Olivier Père selects 10 best new filmmakers

Olivier Père, former director of the Cannes Directors' Fortnight (2004-2009) and now artistic director of the Locarno International Film Festival, picks an ecletic mix of the most promising emerging filmmakers working today, from independent cinema to mainstream Hollywood.

Olivier Père says of his selection of filmmakers:

'I wanted to put the attention on these filmmakers because they are not necessarily the most famous or popular and I wanted to say don’t only talk about the most successful directors, think about the most independent, brave and daring people who want to follow the most personal way of making movies whatever the system, whatever the kind of film.'
