If you or your friends have some arty kids they'll be interested to hear that celebrated children's books illustrator Hervé Tullet is making a rare UK appearance in London at The Big Draw's Big Splash, which takes place at the Kings Place building in London's Kings Cross on September 25. Known in France as 'The Prince of pre-school books', Tullet combines learning and play through his imaginative illustrations. His most recent book, Doodle Cook teaches children to both cook and draw with shape and colour while creating dishes such as 'Scribble Delight' and 'Magic Marmalade'. We've tried both - they're delicious and Jamie Oliver would certainly approve.

Tullet will be running two workshops at King's Place and participants will get the chance to create art-recipes with him. Tullet joins children's author and illustrator Quentin Blake at the event. Kids can also design a giant interactive fashion fanzine with illustrator Nina Chakrabarti and make watery animation strips and spin them to life in a House of Illustration zoetrope.

Follow the link to KingsPlace.co.uk to see the full list of workshops. You can reserve your FREE tickets for timed events by calling the box office directly on 020 7520 1490 or simply by dropping by.
