`Be yourself, always very curious,' advises the Spanish illustrator and designer Javier Mariscal. With a diverse catalogue of work spanning graphic and industrial design, furniture, interiors, animation and multi-media projects, Mariscal suggests young designers should 'make what you really want to do'.

From the creation of his first feature film Chico and Rita to his book Drawing Life – a reflection on the different design projects of his career,  written and illustrated by Mariscal – his inquisitive mind and love for his work is apparent throughout all Mariscal's projects.
