Ferran Adria to open Japanese restaurant
After news of a Mexican restaurant he and business partner brother Albert plan a Nikkei restaurant in Barcelona
Ferran and Albert Adria have revealed more information about their new Mexican restaurant set to open in Barcelona. Ferran announced plans for a Mexican-themed restaurant after coming back from the Cancun Rivera Festival in March. Now, Albert Adria has revealed a little more detail. Called Jaguar it will be run by Albert alongside Ferran and the brothers have apparently found a space close to the Ramblas in the centre of Barcelona. It will work in a similar way to Tickets, their Barcelona tapas bar, with sharable plates and an informal atmosphere. Working with Paco Mendez, who Ferran says is one of the best Mexican cooks in the world, the restaurant will serve Mexican dishes with a modern twist - oysters with tequila, empanada, a quesadilla. Ferran and Albert plan a Mezcal bar below the restaurant.
