Stephen Harris of The Sportsman won his biggest award yet for his book The Sportsman at the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink awards last night.

Stephen, who earlier this year won the Food Book of the Year at the André Simon Book Awards was clearly blown away by this latest honour, Cookery Book of the Year, telling assembled guests:

"I am overwhelmed by winning this award and with such great competition. I didn’t ever plan to write a book but I am so happy now that I did. I am pleased that people have enjoyed reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.”

The Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards are among the most prestigious in the UK with a roll call of the most hard to please palettes in Britain making up the judging panel. They include:
