It's been a while since we've brought you a Steve McCurry video - he's rather a busy chap these days. However, In the run up to Christmas we're going to rectify that. We caught up with Steve when he was in London a couple of months back and sat him down for an afternoon to talk about some of the incredible images in his new Phaidon book, The Iconic Photographs.

We kick off our informal series of videos with Steve's thoughts on his 2000 photo, Young Monk In A Teashop, a photograph he took in Bodh Gaya. As he explains in the video, Steve is very interested in Buddhism so the chance meeting with a monk in an Indian tea shop was one he certainly made the most of.

Incidentally, we're co-hosting a Phaidon masterclass evening with Steve and the Guardian newspaper at the Royal Geographical Society in South Kensington London on December 1. If you'd like to come along, click here. And check out our extensive Steve McCurry online content.
