Love fruitcake but your family can't abide currants? Having a tea party where half the group are gluten-free (and only half of that faction like chocolate)? The Sundaycake, from design duo Danklhampel, offers an ingenious solution to tea-time tribulations - a cake tin divided into different segments of various shapes and sizes. The result is an artful creation that should satisfy all cravings.
And a useful device for social interaction; the design is not currently available to buy in the shops - according to Danklhampel talks are in progress to rectify this - but there is still time to see the prototype in Design Criminals, an exhibition on show at the Austrian Museum of Contemporary Art (MAK) in Vienna (until 14 November). Co-curated by Sam Jacob (one of the members of FAT architects and editor of the Strange Harvest blog), the exhibition explores the truth behind Adolf Loo's 1908 discourse 'Ornament and Crime', questioning the functionality - and social connotations - of ornament in design.
