Learn to cook Greek style with Greek Cookery Classes in central London. Elisavet Sotiriadou provides one-off classes where you are taught to make a main Greek dish, plus two or three sides. Her next class is a vegan session, offering alternatives for a meal without meat and butter, tomorrow (1 June).
The informal classes are open to vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike and offer the chance create and sample authentic Greek cuisine. Under the direction of Sotiriadou, the group cooks and eats together. The cost of the evening covers the lesson and all of the ingredients and equipment, you just need to remember to bring two tupperware tubs to take home the left-overs.
Sotiriadou has received media acclaim on ITV's Britain's Best Dish, when Michelin starred chef John Burton Race praised her cooking. She has also served at the Riverside Studios in London as part of a Greek festival.
Later this month there's another opportunity to take a class with Sotiriadou at Leiths Cooking School (30 June). If you prefer being pampered, Sotiriadou runs a supper club: she cooks, you eat! (17 July)
For Greek recipes you can try at home, Vefa's Kitchen is a comprehensive cookbook with over 650 simple and healthy Greek dishes.
To book the cookery class email greekcookeryclass@gmail.com. An email will be sent to you a few days before the class, detailing the location. Follow the link to Eating East to find out more about Sotiriadou's Greek Foodlover's supper club.
