Lux Inside - Sale Benefiting to Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque & Quixotic
Camera-less photography today: Shadow catchers at the V&A
The antithesis of the digital age - exploring the work of five artists using only light, chemicals and imagination
Ten x-ray photographs conceived as a part of a collective project: Lux Inside will be sold at a charity auction taking place in Hôtel Marcel Dassault on 1 March in Paris.
Lux Inside, a digital art and photography project conceived by journalist Laurence Picot, artist Ricardo Escobar, cardiologist Jean-François Paul and 3D programmer Sylvain Ordureau focuses on the idea of the unseen and hidden beauty within products.
Using the high-definition 3D technology of medical imaging, thirteen iconic objects were scanned, resulting in spectacular, bold imagery. The items include: Pierre Corthay lace-ups, a Hermès saddle, Gibson guitar, Louis XIII cognac decanter, an St Dupont cigarette lighter, a pair of Christian Louboutin stilettos and Saint Louis crystal.
The photographs were printed in limited editions of 12 and will be sold along with the real objects they depict at the at an auction held by Artcurial. The proceedings from the auction will go to Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque and the Quixotic association for the preservation and transmission of craftsmanship throughout the world.
