Iran's new stock exchange
Alejandro Aravena's design for Tehran's stock exchange is minimal, earthquake resistant and glows like a lamp
We've already seen how Iran's new stock exchange might glow like a lamp. Now it seems the new barracks for The Islamic Republic of Iran Army will turn will turn everyone from Japanese CEOs though to Ivy League university presidents green with envy.

This ecologically sound, stunningly modern complex, designed by Hootanpei Associates, could be built on 80 hectares of land within Tehran's city limits. Their plans won a competition to design the army's new residential base in the Iranian capital. Entrants were required to include 30 towers each with up to 30 floors, to prize the residents well being, and to bear in mine ecological considerations. Iranian conscripts can look forward to plenty of green spaces and roof gardens, as well as moving shutters that control the angle of light and save energy.
